With a name like Severe Torture, I figured this band could go one of two ways. My first idea was that listening to it could feel like just that, torture. The other possibility is that they are so good that I feel like I'm being tortured with their bludgeoning brutality. I've concluded that their brutality is the best answer. This is some quality shit right here. My only real complaint is that this is my first time being exposed to this band, and it's kind of hard to judge the quality of the music because of the live recording. A lot of the songs are saturated with a loud, poppy-sounding snare drum that blasts over the rest of the music. It actually becomes pretty annoying at times. But when the blasting snare is quiet, all is well!

These guys can hang with any of the top brutal death metal bands out there. Now they are no Suffocation or Cannibal Corpse, but their bio says that they have toured "extensively" with the Corpse, and I bet they did a damn good job. They could easily be the main support act of any major death metal tour in the U.S. and probably headline a lot of tours in Europe. Now I just need these guys to come overseas again so I can check out if they are the real deal, because I must say, I'm really digging this band! Death metal fans around the globe should check these guys out at some point. Prepare to be severely tortured by such classics as "Feces for Jesus," "Decomposing Bitch," and my favorite holiday classic, "Baptized in Virginal Liquid." Sorry to the band about the mediocre score, but if they didn't have the fucking annoying snare drum and the genius song titles then these guys would be worthy of 4 skulls.
    3 out of 5
