This is a rather unusual sounding quintet, birthed in the land of Italy, in 1999. Originally motivated to play Goth and black metal covers of such notable acts as Moonspell, Edge of Sanity and Anathema, the band quickly found their way into the composition business. The band's live prowess was following by a well received demo titled Entwined Emotions and then Shattering Reality which demonstrated the band's passionate and creative potential. The progression continued with the writing of more aggressive and dynamic compositions, encompassing multiples vocalist, synthesizers and acoustic passages.

The band blends different shades of black metal, with dominant classic femme vocals, mixed within metal riffs and avant-garde saxophone over dubs. This is an eccentric amalgamation of both fast and mid-tempo tracks featuring simple yet commanding technical styles. However, using three vocalists coupled with complex passages are just too confusing for the voices in my head. The record features a number of dissimilar grooves; for example, listen to "Open Wound," a song that captures the atypical elements of pounding bass and extreme guitars. Lyrically speaking, concepts are dark, rocky and primitive chamber laden.

The band has been touring and recently ventured into the visual video world. Obviously, Inner Scars is the product of a talented group of European musicians; however this record lacks cohesion and fluidity. With this in mind, the band needs to refine their sound with a bit more vision and direction to the musical score.
