Okay. I'll keep this pretty short and simple, as I am still tired and sore from the shitload of shows I've been to this month. This album is not good. I've never heard any Dew-Scented albums before this, so I don't know if The Haunted ripped them off, or if they ripped The Haunted off, or whatever. But this album is about 85% The Haunted, and 15% Coma of Souls-era Kreator . . . but only the bad parts of Coma. Oh yeah, and some random blast beats, too. And if you like The Haunted, just click the X in the corner of your screen and never read any more of my reviews. Fuck you. But as I was saying, this is a painfully average, uninspired, lifeless album. The only high point is a few catchy, clever riffs sprinkled through the album. But everything else is just . . . middle of the road. The instrumentation, the vocals, the lyrics, the production (see what you get for being on Nuclear Blast?) . . . all snore worthy. But hey, at least the full album had a cover of Turbonegro's "Hobbit Motherfuckers," which is actually pretty decent. So I guess there's two high points. But when there's about a dozen low points, it just doesn't even out. Oh well. Keep an eye out for my review of the Vital Remains show here in St. Louis coming up very soon. Thrash 'til fucking death!
