Sludge is a very apropos title for this retrospective. When I think of "sludge", I think of something akin to molasses: dark in color, viscous, attempting to wade through it is an arduous task. This pretty much describes how I felt while listening to this album. The first song, "All I Had I Gave," which Death mentioned in his review of Equilibrium, is a decent song... but then pretty much every other song on the album sounds just like "All I Had I Gave," except slower. The only time the album diverges from its funeral procession of sound is in a cover of "Dream Weaver," which I just can't believe they did. Perhaps, like Anthrax playing "September Morn" on the Tonight Show years ago, it was a joke.Listening to Sludge
Sits on head like sleeping cat
All songs sound the same
