Corrosion concerns the act of gnawing and in the eyes of this band likely applicable to the morally depraved degenerative behavior of the establishment. This North Carolina unit has been around since the early 80's, considered a hardcore crossover band, and known for their excellent live shows. If you've never seen the band live, you're missing out. Few years' back caught them at NYU with Cathedral, cool show. This live disc cranks the rock throughout with phenomenal production, recorded live at Harpo's Concert Theatre, Detroit Michigan. Corrosion stays true to their roots and original style while expanding its musical score with this release. This unit delivers hardcore heaviness that is blended with controlled aggression. The band returns to their core roots with a fine slab of metal while mixing hardcore speed with guitar solos and power riffing.

Through the years a more metallic style has evolved although the band has certainly not lost their aggression or hardcore ideals. Corrosion immerses the listener into a pit of slow heaving vibration, featuring heavy thick driving music. Feel the energy of “Albatross” with its intense, menacing sound, enjoy the swamp core riffage. The bands original lineup is long gone but the band has resurrected itself through impressive tours with Soundgarden, D.R.I. and Danzig (ugh!). This live album displays their fierce heavy style at its best even with a tinge of slower and more melodic tracks. Corrosion continue with their hardcore lyrical stance concerning political, social, and ecological issues. The band will likely continue to incorporate more diverse influences into their patented sound, with rock grooves and guitar laced harmonies. However, don't expect the band to venture far from its hardcore roots. This band continues to hone their edge through relentless touring, with the new release and tour, respect comes to a band that richly deserves it. This record would make a good addition to the collection.
