Let me start off by saying that I hate walking. The reason I say this is because of the stupid directions given to me by my friend. We got to 63rd street, the location of Lamour's, but we had to walk 18 avenues down to get to the proper cross street. Bad directions are lame.

Anyways, I got to the venue in time to watch Hate Eternal set up. I met up with my WNYU counterpart, and bullshitted for a little bit while Hate Eternal finished setting up. When they began to play we descended into the pit area. The ripped into their set, playing a blistering mix of songs from King of All Kings and Conquering The Throne. I really dig this band, but I still kinda wish that Erik had stayed with Morbid Angel. Oh well, Hate Eternal killed.

After they finished up we went to the other stage area to check out some of the local talent. A band called Resin was playing. They are pretty typical metalcore, but they had a very loyal local following. This is a band that could conceivably be signed in the future, they have the energy and are talented enough to become an upper-tier group if they work at it.

Now was moment I had been waiting for. Cannibal Corpse is one of my favorite death metal bands. I know that they aren't the best in terms of technicality, originality, or song writing, but the very first death metal show I saw was a Cannibal Corpse show. They are the most responsible for getting me into the more extreme realms of metal.

I first have to start off by saying that Corpsegrinder is a sick vocalist. He sings every song better than Barnes ever could. Not only that, but he has this massive aura that just hypes everyone up. He makes people want to kill. Cannibal opened up with "Blowtorch Slaughter" and didn't stopp until everyone was dead. Sure the setlist was somewhat predictable, but it should be. "Fucked With a Knife," "Bathing In Viscera," "I Cum Blood," "Addicted to Vaginal Skin," etc, etc. They of course ended with "Hammer Smashed Face" and the pit exploded. By the end everyone was cheering for more, but alas, there was to be no more. All things considered though, it was an awesome show.
