    Considered one of the initial bands to trigger the new wave of doom that hit Europe as well as the States in the early 90's, the original line-up of Swedish doom juggernauts Candlemass have returned in full force. In celebration of the reunion, the band has put out a 2-disc DVD compilation, filled to the brim with live performances, interviews and obscure moments of the band's near 20-year career. The first disc of Documents of Doom is their legendary 1990 performance at Fryshuset. The second disc is over 90 minutes of footage spanning from their first gig in 1987 up to their Wackenfest and the Sweden Rock Festival shows in 2002.

    Longtime fans of the band as well as all doomies worldwide will make this a mandatory video release. This is an excellent introduction to the band for those initially getting into doom metal. But one thing is for sure . . . whether you like them or not, you'll get a kick out of their bizarre (but of course, silly) sense of humor, which is on par with fellow countrymen, Meshuggah. Those damned crazy Swedes.

    Favorite parts: The bizarre backstage footage of the "male stripper?" and watching Messiah balance a glass of wine on his gut.
