Slither's Review:
Well fancy that, with a name like World of Shit I was all geared up to trash some mallcore slam band like Devourment. Instead what I find is an excellent combo platter of death metal influences. Striking a balance between disharmony and groove, this five song demo has a sort of Immolation meets Vader feel. Strange bedfellows perhaps, but the end result is damn fine.Every now and then their arrangements sound more like riff tapes than songs, but the very nature of this band is a suitable explanation for that. One member lives in Germany, the other in Chicago. Once a year they meet to jam and do some recordings, and for that kind of relationship this is a really impressive demo. The production is totally adequate and nothing gets buried, but when there are only two instruments fighting for space it's pretty hard to screw the pooch.
This release makes me a bit sad, with some polish and effort these guys could create a great album, but given their global positions and the fact that this demo was recorded in 2002 I doubt we will ever see a full length.
