  • Blind's Review:
    You're kidding me, right?

This is honestly the first thing I thought of when I inserted Trap's second album, All the Reasons They Don't Like Us But Should (AtRTDLUBS). Wanna know why? Of course you do!

    1. To start off, the production is horrendous. This is definitely a garage recording. The bass guitar is completely inaudible, and the rhythm guitars are seriously marred. The drums, which are the clearest, still sound like when you're listening to a concert that's in the next room. Dreadful.
    2. The songwriting is completely uninspired. It's standard hardcore with Pantera style screaming. On a thermometer, this thing registers in Kelvin for originality.
    3. All of the songs are generally the same pace--boring. (Whether that's a pace or not isn't the point; I could fall asleep to this seething mediocrity.)
    4. Coupling with the weak and uninspired music, it sounds like this band is trying its hardest to get Victory Records' attention. Granted, hardcore really isn't my bag. But I can deal with a decent release. AtRTDLUBS is as mind-numbing as its name.
I don't see any reason to continue this review. These guys need a serious overhaul (production, musicianship, creativity, etc.) if they want a piece of the music industry--even the most underground parts of it. Okay, it's a demo. But it's also a piece of crap. Really, if you enjoy ultra-generic hardcore, putrid sound, etc., I'd suggest you buy this. For the rest of you:

    Two word review: ear torture.
