    Sunset Arms was formed in Chicago as a power trio by Amanda Carlson. It is a showcase for her songs that she started cranking out at the tender age of fourteen. Now nineteen, she, her brother Chris, and jazz and classical-trained drummer Jon Levitt bring these songs to life as Sunset Arms.

    Musically, these tunes hold their own with powerful guitars and a tight wall of sound rhythm section. Amanda isn't afraid to break off into a solo while Jon's machine gun drumming blasts off in the background. The songs definitely rock and are the highlight of this three song demo.

    Vocally, Amanda is truly unique with her nasally half-spoken, half sung style. Her voice takes some getting used to and is the weakest contributing factor. Maybe with some vocal training, or possibly the addition of a new singer, Sunset Arms can move ahead in this business. The lyrics and music are strong; the voice just needs some adjusting.
