Metal Militia's Review:
What is this? Besides a stupid band name and a worse demo title, SOS play a poppy version of crossover. Somewhat like D.R.I. but with a much more commercial sound like Pennywise, with more than a few thrash riffs. It's an interesting concept, but after the sixty three minutes that is Adios Bandito I'm really not interested in listening to it ever again. These guys have been around since 1994 and "LOVE TO ROCK!" And while some of the riffs are catchy and some of the songs are memorable, there is far too much filler here and not enough substance. This album is so long that I couldn't listen to the whole thing more than once in its entirety. I skipped around this thing more times than my 9am lecture, I just can't stay focused while listening to this stuff.
I find that I can't really say anything specific about this album, the songs are all somewhat similar, there are alternating moments of thrashy riffs, punk riffs, and trite pop musical endeavors. SOS want some mainstream recognition, but they are way to outdated for today's pop punk scene, and they aren't good enough to get recognition from the metal/punk underground. I can't say much more about these guys, they should decide what it is they want to do with their music and then focus on that.
