  • Savage's Review:
Normally Musashi does demo reviews but somehow I ended up with a few in my stack this month. Unleashed in Norfolk, VA, this six-piece disease called Law of the Plague is spreading its infectious brand of brutal metal along the Eastern seaboard. I was treated to three blistering tracks on this loud, aggressive metal onslaught. Combining speed riffs and death inspired vocals, these guys will put the fear of God in any unsuspecting good Christians.

The record company sent a very creative press release under the moniker: The Sin Times. The attention grabbing headline read as follows: "WARNING! A NEW PLAGUE HAS BEEN DISCOVERED." The article went on to discuss how Law of the Plague's "lethal guitar toxins and venomous lyrics may not appear life threatening but habit-forming and highly contagious. Local conservative leaders have expressed concerns towards this epidemic and a strong sentiment for the group that shows a rebellious, non-conformist, radical open-minded expression."

The opening track entitled "Piss on my Grave," screams "don't forget to piss on my grave!" I detect a smidgeon of bitterness afoot. This demo definitely has an old school feel to it, which to most of our readers here is a breath of fresh air amidst the stagnant nu metal cloud. I haven't heard riffs like this since early Slayer. Other tracks include: "Inside Out" and "Moribund." Be forewarned: a new plague is upon us and we are in for some very painful lessons in torture courtesy of Law of the Plague.
