Musashi's Review:
I am hoping that since the boys in Kaos are such good Christians that they will forgive me for what I am about to write. I really do not like this CD. In fact, I think two skulls is extremely generous. Let us begin by looking at what they wrote in their bio. "You won't find any lyrics about Satan, drugs or women here. Their songs tackle serious topics and individual curiosities like the re-birth of our planet to life after death, the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ and love to friends and family to name a few."Being a King's X fan, I thought maybe I could tolerate some music with Christian values. I was wrong. I just got dragged to "A Walk To Remember" starring the übervirgin, Mandy Moore, which was more than enough Christian goodness for one day. I could not wait to get home and put on my "Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle" DVD and relax to some nasty, sinful entertainment. I thought the name Kaos reminded me of those old Get Smart TV shows and this would be a fun CD. I was wrong.
First of all, the music is just bad: the drums are out of time, the singer cannot sing and the riffs are boring. Second, these guys just do not look metal. I think I got a cavity looking at their sicky-sweet picture inside the CD. Can you say mayonnaise on white bread? Vanilla? Brady? I almost think they are mocking me and my metal beliefs... and that makes me want to beat them down! Sadly, administering beatdowns to sucky bands is outside the scope of my authority.
The new cast of "Undeclared"?The CD is not totally without value. The packaging and presentation are excellent. They have a good press kit with CD, photo, lyrics, bio and stickers. Their website is well done and very cool looking. Unfortunately, they include those goofy photos in their CD (as illustrated here). Stay clear of Kaos. God may have compassion for bad metal bands, but Musashi does not!
