  • Metal Militia's Review:
Why does every Italian band have to have atrociously weak vocals? It sounds like this guy Francesco is whispering into the microphone. GROW SOME BALLS! Yell, scream, be fucking LOUD! There is no place in metal for limp-wristed whimpering assholes who are afraid of singing, ESPECIALLY in a power/prog band. If anything calls for some loud vocal arrogance, it's progressive metal. Does that arrogant jerk from Dream Theater ever shy away from a vocal line? NO. How about Watchtower? You ever hear Jason McMaster sound like a whispering dickhead? Didn't think so. This fool even has the gall to do some growling a la later Death, but even holds back then! Listen up dick bag, if you ever think about growling again be sure to put everything you have in back of it. Metal is not a place for self conscious weaklings.

Other than the ridiculous vocals and horrible demo title, what we have here is pretty standard power/thrash metal with some progressive tendencies. At times the guitars remind me of Watchtower, and at other times they sound more like Dream Theater, albeit less impressive than either one. As is to be expected from any prog band, the musicians are far too full of themselves and have to make each song seven minutes so they each get to show off how well they can play. Cut out some of the noodling in this record and you have a decent demo. Of course I am biased against most progressive acts, simply because it seems like all they are trying to do is show off, and this irks me a great deal. So if you're a fan of musical masturbation, and overlong aural circle jerks, this band may be for you. From me they get two skulls.
