  • Slither's Review:
Obligatory Quote from press pack: "Their music is comparable to such popular bands as Disturbed, Godsmack and Sevendust in that they build their songs around very memorable hooks without losing even an ounce of intensity along the way."

Understatement of the fucking year guys. I have absolutely no respect for Nu Metal, but I'll give these morons a second skull just for having the testicular fortitude to brazenly steal a Disturbed riff on their first track. We're not talking about stepping on Disturbed's toes here; this is straight from a radio single. Lack of originality aside, (hey look, I can do the understatement thing too!) imagine if you will that annoying fuckass from Disturbed without the expense of studio pitch correction. This is the vocal delivery of David Draiman merged with Sully from Godsmack's total disregard for pitch. Even though their verse/chorus/verse/chorus/ass song structures are worthy of an expedient trip to the gas chamber, the rest of the band and studio employees do deserve some credit. This is a Nu Metal production of the highest order. The drums and bass suggest even before the singer steps in that we should all jump da' fuck up.

I hate reviewing albums like this because there is nothing worthwhile to say. Nu Metal is the only genre driven further into the ground than Metalcore. Anybody still trying to work this angle clearly did not get the memo. There are literally only two aspects of this five song EP that set it apart from any of the aforementioned bands.

    1. Nobody told the drummer to fuck off when he wanted to include some pointless electronic drum intros and breaks.
    2. The ambiguous religious gimmick shared by all the referenced bands is not present here.

The band's promo picture in particular really cracks me up. Four thirty year old jackasses sporting tough guy beards, neatly gelled hair, and black muscle shirts. As if to say, "This is our big chance to make up for never getting any pussy in high school AND let everyone know how much we hate our fathers!" I'm really out of anything constructive to say at this point, any further and I will totally devolve to forum troll pedantry. If nothing else, Hollister Fracus are down with the sickness.
