    Ah, another thrash group. This time from Italy! Dreams of Resurrection thrashes quite a bit harder than most of the other thrash demos I get, and even borders on death metal at points, at the same time it can be ridiculously cheesy with some "epic" keyboard melodies, slap bass, cliché guitar solos, and laughable clean vocals. Now I'm not sure if I have made this clear in the past, but in almost all circumstances I hate cheese music, I don't have patience for the likes of Stratovarius or Rhapsody or Manowar or any of their ilk, and Hand of Doom has more than its fair share of cheesy moments. It takes the corny parts of the worst European power metal bands, combines them with some decent thrash riffs and mediocre pseudo death growls and horrible clean vocals. Overall the music has some catchy moments and some sweet riffs but the keyboards and silly vocals kill the album.

    Production-wise this album is excellent. The instruments are mixed well and the vocals aren't too high in the mix, there are no choppy parts in-between songs, each track ends smoothly, this is a very professional recording. The package is put together nicely with nice liner notes and a good looking tray inlay. For a demo album I am very impressed by the overall presentation.

    Despite all that, I can't get over the music. It is definitely not my style of music and it is way too derivative for my tastes. If you like cheesy "epic" songs with keyboards and clean vocals, but with a very slight death metal edge, then Hand of Doom is worth checking out.
