  • Lugubrious's Review:
Sometimes it is good to see a band with a sense of humor, but it is also difficult to take a band seriously when they send you a sheet telling you the right and the wrong thing to do when receiving this demo. Not only this - they have various video game characters and smiley faces throughout, all very amusing. Did you also notice the band members names which I typed out scrupulously? Grrrr. Yeah, that part was not very amusing, thanks guys.

Without a doubt this band has a lot of confidence, but saying bands such as The Crown (RIP) and Behemoth have been "honored" to play the stage with these guys is going a little too far. Then again the cover is the now infamous stained glass window with a priest receiving fellatio from a young boy, I was wondering when this was going to be used by a band.

This would best be described as melodic death metal mixed with System of a Down, thought not quite as bad. The keys are more than just another layer, but are played in such a manner that if you are not a fan of the piano, you won't like this. The closest comparison to Freund Hein would be In Flames, even though they clearly stand on their own. The vocals are a mixture of clean vocals with a Austrian accent and screams similar to the previously mentioned band, but of course not nearly as good.

For a demo this is tops, and there is enough variety on these three tracks to keep the listener interested. While they might draw influences from various bands, they still seem somehow to stand on their own, not sounding forced like so many acts polluting the scene nowadays. If it wasn't for the keyboards though the music would probably fall apart, for the guitars do seem to be somewhat weak. It would be interesting to see what happens with these guys.
