Piss Angel's Review:
This CD is metal. Straight through, to the bone metal. The only exception is they replace a singer with a fiddle player. The band is filled with talented musicians and they all shred but I have personal difficulty getting past the fiddle player. I am generally open to new sounds but something about the fiddle screeching away at high speeds sets me off. The rest of the band plays speed/thrash with a hint of folk influence. I don't know how else to describe it. It goes from speed picking and double kick, to barn dancing. It's a weird mix that is somehow mystifying. Some of the best moments happen when the guitarist and fiddle player throw down the gloves and duke it out. It's a manic battle between these two instruments that sound nothing alike, and they fight to the death. The rest of the songs weave and ramble across grassy fields of burning trees. If you want to try something new check this CD out, the quality isn't the best but it's an interesting concept. Folk metal, who would have guessed?
