    Crush Efekt, a four piece "death metal" band out of Columbus Ohio. The reason I put death metal in quotes is because musically they sound like death metal, but lyrically they have nothing in common with death metal, so I am not exactly sure how to qualify them. I suppose it's not really of any consequence because they really aren't that good.

    Musically Crush Efekt sound like your average death metal band, above average drumming, crunchy, heavy riffs, an all around decent sound. What really kills this band though is their lyrics and their singer. Lyrics just don't get any more stupid. When the chorus for a song is: "Crawl... All... Fall (repeat)" you really need to get some new ideas. The last song on the disc, "White Trash Neighbor" is filled with such insight as "You make me sick, I hate your guts, Your mother's a whore, your sister's a fat slut." Do I really need to say anything about this?

    The saving grace of this CD is the eighth track, "Powertrip." This is very good-- if the album was filled with stuff like this, Eclipsed would easily be a 4 skull album. This song has it all, great drumming, cool riffs, and the lyrics even get upgraded from moronic to slightly below average. If only I could say the same about the rest of the album.

    If you members of Crush Efekt are reading this please, please, please come up with some better lyrics. Musically you have what it takes to get somewhere but the lyrics really kill everything you try to do.
