    First off, Boston's Crumble sent me the most impressive press kit I've ever seen, bar none! It came in a black box with the Crumble sticker emblazoned across the center in white. Inside, the box had a tray that was carved out perfectly to fit a CD and two business cards. There also was a nice transparent cover over a black and white 8x10 glossy of the band on thick photo paper and a bio that looked extremely professional and expensive. Also included was what I considered a nice touch: a static shield bag of goodies containing a few stickers and two black lighters with the band's name and website. Now whenever I light a smoke or a bong, I will be creatively reminded of them!

    Crumble was brought together in Boston in 1999, blending the stylings of metal, rock and funk. Jay Vaz barks erratic vocal outbursts that paint a picture of beauty meets beast through melody and chaos. His sad dirge is peppered with growls of pure agony that is sure to please most metal heads.

    Musically, Crumble belches forth a wall of sound that is trancelike amidst the spasms of brutality. I was pierced by the hooks and wasn't allowed to break free until the ten tracks had run their course. For most metal purists, Crumble would be found guilty for their blatant use of nu metal injections, but fortunately they are different enough to pass underneath the radar.

    Although I liked Disconnect from start to finish the stand out tracks include: "Choke," "Forever's End," "Stale," and "Eyes of Ignorance." I see a bright future for Crumble if they can hold it together. They have the necessary ingredients, they just need a break.
