  • Blind's Review:
I think these guys like Black Sabbath, as well as other bands of that ilk. And, judging by the photo on the back of the CD cover, they were cognizant of the era when those bands were in their heyday. (Translation: they're old farts. ;) Then again, the Blind man's eyes often deceive him.

This music sounds a lot like the slow songs that 80s thrash bands wrote to break up the 0000200003 riffing tracks that proliferated their albums (like Metallica writing "Sanitarium" so that not everything sounds like "Battery" or "Damage Incorporated"). It's fairly heavy, and it has some decent groove in it. This is all well and good, but of course, I have a complaint: there's very little double bass. Some of the breakdowns, especially on track three, "Believe," kick serious ass, but they would rule even more if accompanied with some kick drum THUNDER.

The vocals and production-my other two complaints. The vocalist has talent, but it sounds like he's singing into a seashell. That certainly detracts from the quality of his delivery, which is above average. In addition, the drums can barely be heard, and I have to turn the volume up pretty high on the first three tracks due to the low quality production.

However, let me not disparage this disc too much. It's a solid release-especially for four tracks-and left me wanting more. I look forward to Conspiracy's debut, which will be entitled 3000 Crosses and will be out some time next year.

But for now, go check this out!
