  • Musashi's Review:
If you are looking for a band that sounds like a cross between Pantera and Testament, then look no further. Brick Bath is it. As soon as I put this in my CD player I was hooked. I am usually ambivilent towards sound-alike bands, but I love Pantera and Testament and can't help but like a band that takes the best of both worlds and combines them with such perfection. Brick Bath describe their sound as a combination of Pantera and Testament on steroids. I concur; it's all that and more.

This is a self-released, full length CD. There are 14 songs on it that are all balls-to-the-wall. Brick Bath rose from the ashes of a band called Epitath that found themselves without a label when Chainsaw Records folded. The band decided to do things their own way and seem to have found a successful formula.

The CD sounds great. The music is excellent. I really like the intensity of the rhythms. This is one of the few bands that really has a handle on grooving in a metal way like Pantera does. Rhythmically, the songs all move foward with that kind of kinetic energy that draws you in and forces you to bang your head and fists. However, it's not a speed clusterfuck that is so common in metal. Faster and slower parts come together naturally creating tension and release. Very exciting. The guitar playing is great. Lots of Dimebag inspired solos weave in and out of the mix. Brick Bath is a band that should be dominating radio play lists and headlining tours. Check it out!
