I rarely think "EXTREME METAL" when I think "Oklahoma City," and this is exactly what was stated in Blunt Force Trauma's information. My first thought after listening to their demo through was that these guys are obvious Suffocation and Morbid Angel fans. This demo absolutely reeks of similarities to these two prevalent bands. It is tremendously hard to place this band on their own without comparing them to Suffocation, the Gods of this straightforward, brutal Death Metal style. BFT have incredible potential, but fall shy of producing something original that has not been done numerous times. Although, they are heavy with the old "guttural" vocals, they keep the pace slow resembling Dying Fetus at times. Snapped is undoubtedly full of decadence, with a pretty good sound that makes for an overall well-produced demo, but unfortunately they did not capture the individuality I was looking for. Snapped did not satisfy my rabid craving for something innovative in the Death Metal genre, but they were not half bad. I wish them luck in attempting to get signed, and I would recommend that you check them out on your own time.
