Ember's Review:
Since I really couldn't have put it better myself, I decided to quote Blistered Earth's Bio section of their website to describe to you what they are all about:Blistered Earth (blis-turd urth) - noun, origin 20th century English; North America
1.Thrash metal band from Massachusetts USA whose agenda consists of putting an end to whiney crybaby so called metal and rock bands while reintroducing the long forgotten pastime of hell raising rock and roll attitude filled thrash metal.
Example: "It's time to stop writing whiney lyrics about how your parents didn't love you, grow some balls, plow a groupie, listen to Blistered Earth, and be a man."
Yep. That about sums it up. Blistered Earth is a Massachusetts based thrash metal band that will grab you by the balls and take you for one hell of a ride. They prove that you don't have to be a whiney, angry little bitch to make intense heavy fucking metal. With their new full-length self-titled demo they are here to show you that they aren't fucking around.
It didn't take much to convince me. Blistered Earth truly took the place of pre-Black Album and kept going where Metallica should've (That shit sucks! If you like any of it then stop reading this because you could never appreciate Blistered Earth, or any other good metal anyways). This metal masterpiece is fourteen tracks full of sex, beer and rock and roll that will give you nothing less than a stiff neck. Each song is just as amazing, but my current favorites are "1981" and "Legends of War."
I have seen Blistered Earth live and they are just as amazing onstage as they are in the studio. They are talented musicians with a passion for metal and dedication unlike any other band I have seen in a long time. They are worth five skulls and then some. Go to their site and get this album. With powerful solos, catchy (yet still heavy) riffs, and drumming that would put Lars Ulrich's current work to shame, how can you not give it a chance? Your ears really don't know what they're missing.
