    Packaging wise, this demo is pretty lackluster. A website that provides almost no information and a promo card that gives out the most meager of information. I won't fault Ballistic too heavily on this as their music is decent, but if they want to get the word out about their music they need more than what I was given. Hailing from the New York area, Ballistic is your standard New York death metal band. With obvious influences from their predecessors Internal Bleeding and Suffocation, these guys play by-the-book death metal, complete with semi-ludicrous song titles that sound cool, but really don't mean much. "Matrix of the Condemned" is a textbook Suffocation title, but the actual aural material just doesn't compare. That being said, the riffs aren't anything special, but they are heavy enough and when needed these guys can thrash it up decently.

    With their three-track demo Ballistic confirm that they are just another death metal band, rehashing material that was tired five years ago. Ballistic is further proof that death metal is a stagnant, boring scene. I have no real problems with this demo as the music is technically fine, it just fails to spark any sort of passion or excitement, and if death metal can't sway me, then it really isn't worthwhile.

    If I knew where these guys were performing I'd probably get to the venue early to see them, but it's unlikely I'd ever buy one of their albums - Suffocation has been cloned enough times and this material really isn't necessary.
