    "It's important that we all respect and be open to different styles of music, so we don't become close-minded, metalhead fucks." Such is the mission statement from four guys in California who decided to put a band together to piss people off. Despite the influences which they claim range from Anal Cunt to Beethoven, this is a grindcore band (or as they like to call themselves "Sporadicore").

    The CD and the website are very professional. The overall image is great. I like the cool artwork and all the flash enhanced stuff. The album is recorded and mixed very well. It is an independent release but could easily be picked up and licensed by any label looking to add a hot grindcore band to its catalogue.

    Antagony's music is cacophonous, fast, brutal, intense and weird. The vocals irritate me and remind me of Today Is The Day. They are too high pitched and scratchy for my taste. Although I am sick of grindcore, Antagony's music is so weird and quirky that it makes me stop and take notice. It is not merely blinding fast riffs; the music goes in many directions that leave me surprised. Meanwhile, I am not surprised by the lyrics which espouse such tired grindcore cliches as "We'll sneak up on you, and then smash you in the face," "your clique is fucking shit," "revenge is mine revenge," "I hate myself. Fuck, what did I do?"

    I definitely have to rate this as one of the better grindcore demos I have heard. Go check it out!
