Slither's Review:
Have you heard the Cannibal Corpse live album? Imagine a horrible clone of George Fischer's handicap-able between song banter and then dump the whole thing into a lower quality of recording and that's pretty much what you have here. This is total Cannibal Corpse worship, ascending hammer-ons and all. They list such influences as Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Possessed, Disrupt, and Assuck but outside the occasional unique passage, this is straight up mall friendly death metal.Whether this album is worth owning is entirely subjective. If you like this approach then they certainly deliver the goods, but it's the same formula you know and love/hate from the band I have mentioned several times now. [BLAST BLAST MOSH BLAST MOSH BLAST MOSH MOSH] They are all competent musicians and there are certainly no complaints about the performances. The only really annoying technical detail is that they didn't turn off the two-second delay when they burned the album. So the obnoxious banter between songs is always cut in half by some silence. If you are in the mood for some live recordings in the style of more recent Obituary (Cannibal Corpse) then Animated Dead are worth a spin.
