  • Musashi's Review:
Holy NuMetal, Batman! Is this the new Slipknot CD? No, chum, it's Angerkill. What is that horrifying sound? Is it a guitar? No, Robin, that is an accordion, just like the one we heard last week. Why are so many metal bands using accordions, Batman? I don't know, my little friend, but I suspect it is some sinister plot. To the Batcave!!!!

That's right, I was able to find another band that used an accordion. How do I do it? I work hard to bring you the best because I care! Granted, Angerkill only has accordion on one song, but it still makes you wonder what the hell is going on.

Despite their nod to bellowing free reed instruments, Angerkill is essentially a NuMetal band--a good NuMetal band. I fear that after a few more listens I might actually grow to like this band. Perhaps that is the most sinister part of their music: it is catchy.

I know that you are probably wondering, much like me, why three of the members all share the same surname. It turns out that David and Frank are brothers and that Jen is married to one or both of them. Is this some sort of NuMetal Latino Osmond family? I don't know. I cannot imagine them putting on some sort of NuMetal variety show. Perhaps a Saturday morning cartoon of them like the Jacksons would be more appropriate. Perhaps they can get a multicolored bus and drive around with Danny Bonaducci. There are many possibilities.

Angerkill is one angry family that makes angry music--it's all Ricky and no Lucy, like Ike without Tina. If you are looking for New NuMetal or if you are just really pissed off, then get yourself some Angerkill. If you want to save the $12, then just punch yourself in the nuts three times while watching Nick at Nite.
