Metal Militia's Review:
Aleister C. - metalcore from Brazil. Not really, but whatever. These guys are in fact from Brazil, but they I don't think they really qualify as metalcore. They have much more in common with Slipknot and Spineshank than they do with Shadows Fall. That's not really a good thing, but it's not a terrible thing either. They aren't incredibly original, but they are competent. And that is more than what can be said about most of the demos I review. The vocals are pissed off, the music is very aggressive and somewhat repetitive, but it is catchy and I wouldn't mind seeing these guys live. I've always thought of Slipknot and the like to be a good stepping stone into the metal underground, and I think that Aleister C. could easily do the same. They have the anger and attitude to appeal to the younger crowd, and they are just hard enough to keep them interested for a year or two - after that the kids will want something else, and metal will be able to provide them with it.
There really is that much more to say about these guys. The music is what it is. Experienced metal heads will most likely hate it, Slipknot fans will dig it. The lyrics are stupid teen angst cliché s, but they are catchy and easy to remember. So if you are looking for a band that sounds like Slipknot, but not as good then check these guys out.
