  • Metal Militia's Review:
How is it that the demos that I hate the most always seem to have the best production jobs? I wish all the demos I got were produced to the level of Abolisher; most have a much shittier production job, yet they are all almost better than this corny dung pile. Everything I hate about metal (decent production excluded) is present in this demo. Horribly used keyboards, boring, stupid songs, cheesy lyrics, ten minute plus songs that suck, and forgettable riffs.

I think I've made it clear that I don't like this band, I don't like anything they do. Every single note sounds clich é and boring. I may just be in a bad mood, but I don't think I will ever listen to Abolisher again willingly. The demo opens with a crappy acoustic instrumental track that is near three minutes long. Now I normally wouldn't mind an instrumental intro, as long as it was relevant to the rest of the album in some way! Not this stupid keyboard wanking boring crap. What follows is even worse, the beginning of the second track, "The Solemn Promise," opens with a friggin Spanish guitar melody that turns into some pseudo prog bullshit! SPANISH-FUCKIN-GUITAR??? Why?? I cannot think of any possible reason to put this stupid little intro in the song.

The next song is Abolisher attempting some sort of thrash/death metal. As expected it fails miserably. They can't do whatever it was they were trying to do in the other song, and this is horrible as well. Another stupid intro, followed by lame music, totally devoid of any emotion or effort with shitty "harsh" vocals over it. Luckily, the harsh vocals are abandoned a few minutes into the song and replaced with equally terrible, but less out of place clean vocals. Good job guys.

I really can't think of anything good to say about this demo. My advice to the band, get rid of the keyboards, write some fucking headbanging RIFFS, and get a vocalist with some balls and belt out some music with at least a little bit of enthusiasm and passion. This record is plain boring and it sucks.
