  • Martyr's Review:
Let me first start off by saying that I'm a closet Industrial fan. My boyfriend takes great pride in making fun of me for it too. In the end, all I have to say is "Psalm 69, come on now" and my guilty pleasures become justified until the next time I throw on another album with not so intricate drum machine tracks.

I received an album by a band called Twenty Ripped Angel, which at first I thought was a typo, and unfortunately I'm wrong. This band's name will forever bother me, for I'm a glutton for grammar correction. So I threw Days Full of Night in my car CD player thinking it was going to bite the big one, but to my dismay this industrial-rock fusion was pretty damn good. With live drums (which smoked might I add) and a guitarist with the praised skill of tight soloing, I was quite impressed with it. Who would have thought?

Although I'm sure this band would really not like to see this, I'm reminded of a couple of bands as I'm listening to this. They stated in a bio, that they have no influences. To that I'd like to say SHAME ON YOU. On track 2 "Here Comes the Losers," there is a distinct guitar/bass line that just screams Ministry. Quite a few of the vocal tracks on Days Full of Night are reminiscent of Bile (a band that I can't help but love). The thing I'd like to see the vocalist do is use unprocessed vocals. He has a processor on his voice about 95% of the time and it's the same effect for every song which is somewhat overkill. Constructive criticism and mediocre lyrics aside, these guys do know how to rock out.
    3 out of 5
