Promotional Single: "Needing It All," "Fifth Gear"For future reference, please enclose a note that says something like "please review for metaljudgment.com." I'm getting old and I need those sorts of reminders. Also I get lots of CDs sent to me and it gets confusing. 12 Guage enclosed two sheets of paper with the CD and a sticker. I don't understand why they couldn't combine the information from the two sheets onto one sheet (again maybe I'm too old). But I'm nitpicking. I like the Sticker and I like the CD artwork-- cheap but effective. I think the back cover looks cooler than the front.
The CD sounds ok. It's good for a demo but attention needs to be paid to singing in key (seriously it needs a lot of work) and not being too sloppy. I also notice some dropouts and mixing problems. Fire your engineer. The songs are pretty cool. In fact, I think I like the second song better than the first. Maybe the order should be switched. (Maybe I'm living in that alternate universe where everything is reversed and Superman is an asshole.) They seem to be heading for a good heavy sound. I get a Pantera meets Sevendust vibe from them. I would definitely like to hear more from these guys. They should really invest some money in going to a better studio and getting a better demo.
Detroit is lucky to have 12 Gauge & Nylons.
