  • Parm's Review:
The greatest export of Austria to date. And since I don't really know anything about Austria besides Pungent Stench, I'm sticking to my claim. They were and still are an extremely under-rated / under-appreciated band.

Featuring one of the most disturbingly funny and grotesque album art / inlay photos to date, the stench crew really came into their own with the release of this 33-minute EP in 1993. Blending good old-fashioned death metal with rock and roll, morbid humor and electronica (the least pronounced influence) makes for one very entertaining listening experience.

Great song titles like: "Praise the Name of the Musical Assassins," "Viva La Muerte," "Horny Little Piggy Bank," and "Why Can the Bodies Fly." Not to mention a quality rendition of the Mentors' "Four 'F' Club" and 2 versions of their classic song, "Blood, Pus and Gastric Juice." This is definitely aimed at those who don't take their music too seriously or feel the need to burn down a church while praising the "infernal one." Don't get me wrong, this is high-grade extreme music, but with such twisted tongue in cheek humor, you can't help bust a huge grin.

My review is based on the version I purchased in 1993 (okay, I received it for free since I had a radio show). An updated version was released years later by Nuclear Blast with an extra song entitled, "Choked for Just a Joke" (sounds like another hum dinger).
    4 out of 5
