When a band describes itself as containing members of Old Man's Child, Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon, over-the-top symphonic black metal comes to mind. However, this is far from what you will find upon closer inspection of Susperia. Predominance is a thrash metal skeleton with black metal skin. The music is purly thrash metal. The guitar work is very good, going from melodic mid-tempo to balls-out soloing. The rhythm section, namely the drumming by ex-Dimmu man Tjodalv, is amazing. The vocals are the more black metal part of this band. Singer Athera lays down some very impresive pipe work on this album. His voice can be as distorted or clean as he makes it. Overall I was very impressed with Predominace. No, it's nothing new or revolutionary. Yet if you need that thrash metal fix and nothing seems to do, get hooked on Predominance.

This is a pretty good album. The lineup is good, I felt that the music had good riffs and good musicianship but I'm not sure what I was listening to. It was very similar to mainstream metal similar to Dimmu Borgir but without the keyboards. A couple of good songs on this one, worth buying.
