This is not a Pop Metal album folks... Def Leppard is Pop Metal! You can call it watered down Gothenburg Metal if you want, but it works for me. It is damn good watered down metal to my ears!
Personally, I really love it when a band never releases the exact same album twice. That is one of the reasons why I really like Figure Number Five, it is still very aggressive and perhaps a little more polished than previous releases. But, it is filled with great hooks and riffs, wonderful harmonies and melodies. It is mostly all fast and speedy melodic extreme metal. In my view, it contains some of the most delicious palatable metal available!
So it has more clean vocals than most Death Metal albums and bands I know, get over it, the band has evolved, the bottom line is: Do you like the music or not? I Do!
Standout Tracks: "Rejection Role," "Departure Plan," and "Downfall 24."
