Neurosis' new album is light years beyond anything they've put out before. Their music could only get so heavy before they would have to change the way they do things, well, this is it. It's slow as ever... but the flow, the feeling, sucks you in. This is probably their hardest album yet, although it's subtle at first. The transition from deep tones to grinding, scraping guitars-- it's such a contrast that just oozes emotion and depth. It may take some listening to get used to, but believe me it's well worth the buy. Everything with Neurosis' sound has been pushed to the limits. The slow, moody orchestrations almost envelope you so that heavily distorted guitar chords can sucker-punch you while you're entranced... A must have for everyone into metal, it'll change how you see heavy music.
