I will give a quick review of this album. First off, I am a huge fan of Slipknot but I will admit that this album was awkward at the beginning. Now, I am slowly liking it. My fav songs are "Solitaire" and "Before I Die". I think that the mix of the songs was off balance, however it is not a big concern of new material that is produced instead of remixed. The other songs don't appeal to me as much but I can say that Mushroomhead's next album, with the proper songwriting, can rival the best metal acts in America and possibly the world. Maybe, that is....

I'll start this review by saying that I'm not going to talk about the issues of Slipknot comparison or the spamming shit, I'm focusing on the music only.

I love Mushroomhead, that's why I may be pretty biased. They are not a complete revolution in originality, but they're certainly different enough from all the nu-metal clones out there. In the vocals section, they manage to mix two really different voices and get a great final product, I admit the whiney voice of Jeffrey Nothing may be quite annoying, but if you take the time to really listen maybe you'll apreciate the contrast.

In the guitars, bass and drums section there's nothing too trascendental, they're good, but not exceptional.

Finally the best of it is the keyboards and samples. I think they add the special ingredient that makes the mix so cool.

The top tracks are: "Solitaire/Unraveling," "Bwomp," "Never Let it Go" and "The New Cult King."
