Basically, this is all I could've hoped for in ole Rob Halford's return to a little bit more metal than he's been in the past few years. Rob's in leather, on a motorcycle, screamin like a banshee, has solid riffs under him, and still writes mostly good songs.

Rob's vocal performance is what I'd expect from Rob's vocal performance, so I shouldnt have to describe it here to anyone who'd care enough about Rob to wanna check out the album. The only real surprise vocally is that age has gruffened his voice somewhat here and there, makin it similar to what age has done to ole Bruce Dickinson. In fact, so much so that I have trouble telling the Rob from the Bruce on the verses of "The One You Love to Hate."

The real surprise here is how Rob managed to get a guitar team that doesn't dissapoint me. I mean, c'mon, admit it, Tipton/Downing is hard to follow up, and Rob managed to find two dudes who could do it. The riffing all over this album is good, the soloing is good as well, nothing to write home about, but also nothing to complain about. I'm happy.

Drums and bass are nothing special, so I have nothing to say, except that they don't suck.

Basically, all the best elements of this album came together for the exquisite power ballad "Silent Screams". There's a definite climax to this album, and that's it. I'm surprised that he wrote it while he was still with Two. The riffing, varying from acoustic slightly evil-sounding atmospheric arpeggiated shit to huge and heavy riffing, is the best on the album. Rob's vocals sound great, he even sounds strangely youthful. This is maybe my favorite song with Rob on it, and that's saying a lot coming from a big Priest fan.

Overall, it's a good album that coulda been better, but it's best songs are great and it's got Rob Halford, so it's always good in my book.

"The Resurrection Of Rob Halford." I got the CD as soon as it came out. I am pleased with the material on the album. Some of my favorites: "Silent Screams," "Slow Down," "Locked And Loaded." I had the privilege of meeting Rob in seattle on his "Two" tour at the "Rockcandy," May 2nd 1998. And I got a picture of Rob and myself. Anyway I am glad that Rob is back in the harder music scene now! I have all of the Judas Priest albums, Fight, Two. Priest was always my favorite since I was about 13 years old. Priest is just not the same without Rob. I have followed him in all his musical areas! Resurrection is the most pleasing of Rob's musical journeys since Priest.

Ahh the anticipation... Rob himself... coming BACK to metal! A new, 100% metal album! And to recall, just think of what Painkiller was like! And into the stereo the CD pops.

After the first spin, I was left kinda undecided. Now there were perfections on the CD. "Silent Screams," "Resurrection," "The One You Love to Hate"... But something, something was missing. I still don't know what. But it didn't send cold shivers down my spine like Painkiller, or any of the early Priest albums. It was worth the buy, it's a great album, and Rob IS back indeed, but still, I can't spare more than three skulls.

I purchased the C.D. the day it was released (8-8-2000) and was completely blown away by the power of the band! This is a celebration of Metal (or Met-al as Rob says). The 15 dollars is worth every penny! You won't be disapointed. There are several weaker songs on the disc (I didn't think "Cyberworld" had much thought implemented, just a basic, average song). I was raising my fist and yelling through 90% of the disc. I was a fan of Judas Priest in High School in 1977. No one had heard of them at that point. My love for this singer goes way back, so to have him back into metal is beyond words! I give the disc 4.5 skulls and it is better than Brave New World.

This cd is all metal, it's a must own. If you like the the high notes then this is the cd for you to get. I've seen him live in Philly with Maiden and he was great. Let's face it, it's about the music, so forget his lifestyle and respect the music.

This cd is godly cool. Halford made a hell of True Metal cd. He beat Iron Maiden's new cd easy with Resurrection. This is a Metal Masterpiece for 2000. The cd is very cool stuff. I love all of the songs on the cd. It's hard think of my favorite Track.
