The so-called originators of the Gothenburg sound have totally lost it on this album. What happened to the really cool riffs and speed picking, the things that made them well known?

This album is a good solid album but slow compared to all their earlier stuff. It's like they left all the the complicated riffing to the delicate keyboards (as much as I love them). At least the album before this, Projector, had more substance in my opinion and still had a resemblance or connection to their earlier works. (I felt Projector was a pretty cool piece of work as a whole and was a worthwhile, noteworthy change of pace for the band or any band deciding to try something different.)

The only plus points of Haven, in my opinion, is its production quality (Studio Fredman is getting damn good along wih my fav metal engineer Fredrik Nordstrom-- although Andy Sneap may have topped him with Nevermore's Dead Heart in a Dead World), some pretty good lyrics as well as its delivery and some pretty cool strings.

Other than that it kinda bored me guitar-wise, which is the crux of all things metal. As good an album as it may be on its own, it's a tad bit disappointing, in my opinion, coming from the guys who gave us The Gallery or even the softer Projector.

While some people didn't get blown away with Projector, I got the genius of such an output right away. How can you not love songs like "Undo Control" (godly), "Therein" and basically the rest of the album.

And now out comes Haven, and what do I think? I think it is slower, I think that all the songs are pretty even and that none stand out as I believe some did on the last album and I think this album is amazing!!

DT always comes out with something fresh and original but always heavy and amazing!

This is how a band should evolve, integrating new elements but never, ever forgetting its roots.

Heavy but very melodical, and aggressive yet tenderly sweet.

So hail DT and I hope they keep coming out with such amazing releases.

This album is friggin sweet, I have Projector and that album is awesome too, this is how I review albums: production, musicianship quality, comparison to direct last studio album, lyrics, and overall coolness. Let me begin. Starting off with production it's pretty much the same as Projector with a little less emphasis on the keyboards, so that scores good marks for a fine Studio Fredman production. Next musicanship, while not as adventurous as the last album it certainly takes all the great elements of it and uses them wisely with, of course, a few sweet surprises. Comparison to last album is that this one sounds pretty much the same except that all clean and female vocals are gone until the last track, I believe, but as I said, before Projector they didn't use clean vocals I believe. So with that in account it sounds not out of place in their entire catalog. Overall coolness factor is that it's pretty darn cool, that it's back to all death/black vocals and that it just plain sounds friggin cool, man. Lyrics are as great as ever, not out of place with their catalog. So, songs that stand-out are "Indifferent Suns," "Haven," "The Wonders At Your Feet" and "Not Built to Last." Do yourself a huge favor and go buy this album now, only non - metal fans won't buy this.
