This has got to be one of the most anticipated releases for me that I can rememmber. Firedemon, in my mind, is the Reign in Blood of our age, and it was with these kind of expectations that I slipped Carnal Forge's new work into my cd player.I wouldn't say it was a disapointment, but...
Now this review may be a bit premature as I just bought the album today, but it's (gasp) just too fast for me... I hate how that sounds and it makes me sick just to see those words written by me, but I'm afraid it's true. Most of the songs are so blindingly fast thats it's hard to make out the riffs that are lying behind the much too up front drums.
It's a fuckin' great record, don't get me wrong. These guys are about as metal as you get, but it seems like they have slightly abandoned some of their thrash roots in favor of a more death attack. Normally not a problem, but it just doesn't work for these guys quite as well. I don't know, but I found on Firedemon so many catchy as fuck parts that I just don't find here. call me a wussy... Great album, but not the masterpiece Firedemon is.

Ignore everything I just wrote. Just went back over the new Forge and fuck was I wrong. This is genius. Fuckin' great thrash at maximum speed. This slays.
Another work of genius by the new champions of extreme thrash.

I have TRIED AND TRIED to like this band... I like what they are trying to do, but they just fall short in my book. They are trying to do the new thrash like The Haunted or Witchery, but it just isn't as catchy or cool as those other two bands. This is a good release, but not better than their previous CDs.
