Abyss's Review:
I'm a big fan of death metal. And as such, I'd have to say that I generally like most of the death metal that comes across my desk, at least to some extent. Growling vocals, shredding guitars and blastbeats combined together will generally result in something that will satisfy me, even if it fails to blow me away. In many ways death metal hits me like horror movies... they don't have to be particularly amazing to make me happy, it's just the kind of shit I like. Some might think that sort of attitude is far too pedestrian, especially for someone who is supposed to be reviewing said material. Those people might have a point, but at the same time, liking most death metal makes the stuff that truly stands out... well, truly stand out.
"One word review: Organic." And that's how I feel about Decapitated. Album after album, these guys continue to impress me. Not only are they experts at extreme rhythms, blistering speeds, and swaying grooves, they also put the cherry on top of the cake by being masters of less appreciated aspects like texture and atmosphere.
The album title for their new record is very apt, because I think this band has done an outstanding job of making an organic record that does so even though it maintains a solid level of production. Every song on this record sounds brutal, but they don't sound the same. If there is one true weakness to the genre of extreme metal as a whole, it's that there are far too few sounds out there. With exception of the more eclectic and experimental bands out there, most stuff of this ilk sounds similar over the course of an album, and I think that's where Decapitated stand apart to an extent. They utilize different tones and alternate the mix from song to song, so I feel like I'm getting a much more complete album than I get from many other bands.
Decapitated remain a sick addition to the metal realm, and remain underrated despite the praise they receive. One word review: Organic.

Death's Review:
Killer thrash metal is just the shot in the arm the metal scene needs right now, and Decapitated do a laudable job of delivering the toxic injection with their latest platter of studio splatter. If you like old school Slayer, Kreator, and Morbid Angel riffs, yet also like late-90's death metal, musical technicality and modern production, then Decaptitated is just for you. Almost every song is fast and punishing (think Krisiun or Hate Eternal) yet offers a neck-snapping groove riff which makes you want to thrash around wildly like you always do for Lamb of God, Testament or Pantera riffs. Everything here is creative and fresh sounding without being too fresh-sounding, if you know what I mean. Because while Decaptitated have obviously forged their own way through the metal forest, they are at their best when they are conjuring the feelings of classic thrash and early brutal death. It is precisely for this reason that only time will tell where this album will stand among the best of 2006, even though it sounds great when you are listening to it. The true test will be to find out if the riffs end up being catchy enough to stay with the listener long enough to make you crave to crank it again and again. Don't get me wrong this is a great album. But will I totally forget about it when the new Slayer comes out? Let's hope so.

Hel's Review:
Well, here I sit, with another new Decapitated record totally tearing me a new one. I’ve always been amazed at the precocious talent of these Poles, and while it was something I thought I’d eventually get over, it turns out that is not the case. Album after album, they unleash the brutality. Sure, you’ve got to like just this kind of death metal to fully appreciate their youthful genius, but if you do...well, I have a feeling I’m preaching to the choir.
"Album after album, they unleash the brutality." I am still in mourning that I missed these guys not once, but twice on their tour with Nile, Hypocrisy and Soilent Green, and I will not be able to let that go until I am able to finally see them, so I certainly hope they’ll be back again soon, as I would dearly love to lay my despair over this to rest. Please do me two favors, dear readers: 1) go to see them if they come to your town, and 2) buy this record!
Organic Hallucinosis even with the long, drawn-out British voice-overs, is a compelling album. The production is raw, yet clear. The songs are utterly devastating. The musicianship is, well, if we need to go into this you’re just wasting my time. I cannot emphasize enough how utterly and completely you need this album in your collection.
